Bio

David L. Rowell, affectionately known as DJ, is an American actor, producer, and writer whose presence both on-screen and behind the scenes is reshaping what it means to be a leading man in today's entertainment landscape.

A proud native of South Carolina, DJ grew up with dreams of basketball glory - until a college internship introduced him to a new kind of stage: the world of storytelling. What started as a spark quickly became a calling. From that moment forward, he immersed himself in the craft, training consistently and performing in front of any camera that would capture his growth.

His breakout role as Wesley Saxon in the feature film Christmas in Carolina introduced audiences to DJ's natural charisma and emotional depth. But it was The Love Doctor - a romantic comedy he wrote, produced, and starred in - that marked a defining turn. Featuring an all-star cast including Kellie S. Williams, TC Carson, and Chandra Currelley, the film showcases DJ's ability to deliver laughs, heart, and meaning - both in front of the lens and behind it. Its global distribution stands as a milestone, affirming DJ as not only a leading man, but a rising creative force with something real to say.

Whether playing a romantic lead, producing stories that center culture and connection, or mentoring young talent through his DJ Rowell Foundation, he leads with purpose. DJ brings truth, warmth, and intention to every room he enters - on camera or off.

"Setbacks are often mistaken for breakthroughs." "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."

From humble beginnings to international screens, DJ Rowell is becoming a voice - and a vision - of a new generation of storytellers.
